PRESS CONFERENCE: Darryl Mount was 21 when he suffered fatal injuries sustained during a police chase in Saratoga Springs on August 31, 2013. He never fully regained consciousness and died 8 ½ months later. His family always questioned if there was police misconduct and asked for an investigation. Recently, during a court deposition as part of a wrongful death lawsuit, it was disclosed that there was never any investigation and the Chief of Police lied about such an investigation being conducted. Many details – old and new information – indicate lack of oversight and accountability, negligence, deliberate deception, and disregard for Darryl’s life and his family’s right to know what happened to their son and brother. Help us get answers and justice for Darryl’s family and our community.
Show up for Darryl Mount’s family and demand our city’s law enforcement be held accountable and provide answers to Darryl Mount’s family.
We will provide signs to hold during press conference and statements to read to the City Council. Your own statements (up to 3 minutes) are welcome. If you cannot attend, please email statements.
