On Sunday, April 5, Dyer Phelps Memorial AME Zion Church will present its annual fundraiser Freedom Concert with The Dorothy Cotton Jubilee Singers at the United Methodist Church. This incredibly diverse group of singers are dedicated to the preservation of the Negro Spiritual. The group, named in honor of Dorothy Cotton (who passed away in 2018) was established in 2010 at Ithaca College. Dorothy was known for her work with the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and was the education director of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference.
