More insight from the sponsors, Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge #161:

On Saturday, September 11, 2021, Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge No. 161 is planning to celebrate the return of our Annual Flag Day Parade under a new name for this year only. Last year’s Parade was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and we have postponed this year’s Parade until September 11, 2021 in the hopes that COVID-related crowd size and social gathering restrictions will be sufficiently relaxed. By resolution of the U.S. Congress adopted on December 18, 2001, September 11 has been designated as Patriot Day in remembrance of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. We are therefore calling this year’s parade the Elks Patriot Day Parade. We will be honoring not only our local first responders who assisted with rescue and recovery efforts after the Twin Towers fell, but also our local first responders and essential workers who have been at the forefront of our community’s battle against the COVID-19 pandemic. We will also be commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy.

As in the past, we will continue to honor active members and retired veterans from all branches of the Military Service – Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard.
