#BaldwinSaratoga: A Fly in Buttermilk

  • C.R.E.A.T.E. Community Studios 70 Beekman Street Saratoga Springs, NY, 12866 United States (map)

C.R.E.A.T.E. Community Studios in collaboration with SEEN (Saratoga Educational Equity Network) continues their James Baldwin Series. This discussion and art-making group gathers every other Monday to discuss James Baldwin’s powerful writings and their provocations for Saratoga Springs. Books are available at a discount at Northshire if you want your own copy or like to mark things up, and books will be available to borrow for participants in attendance. In the meantime, the first reading is also available on Google Books, along with the Ebony archive.

Monday, May 16: “A Fly in Buttermilk”

Baldwin's writings are accessible but challenging, provoking us to continue conversations about identity, American politics, community, the role of art, and the place of history in contemporary life. Join us May 16, 5:30-6:45 p.m. at our Saratoga studio at 70 Beekman St.
