MLK Saratoga is partnering with Skidmore College to welcome and host a conversation with two members of Combatants for Peace (CfP), an organization founded by former Israeli and Palestinian combatants who, after fearing, hating, and doing harm to the other, decided violence was no longer an option. Founded 18 years ago, this organization has grown, and its mission is to work toward peaceful resolution of conflict and liberation for all Palestinian and Israeli people.

Speakers: Sulaiman Khatib and Iris Gur will share their stories during this event. Khatib is the Co-Founder and International Relations Director of CfP. He was nominated for the 2017 and 2018 Nobel Peace Prizes. As a local Palestinian community organizer, renowned international speaker, and lecturer he has been recognized worldwide for his contributions to promoting peace, social justice, and equality for all. Gur is the Israeli Community Director for CfP. A mother, educator, and social and human rights activist, Gur has successfully led organizational and pedagogical processes and changes while emphasizing the strengths and needs of both individuals and society.
