CAROL DAGGS / JAZZAGE is a true Renaissance Woman, who has used the journey of her life to add accomplishment on top of accomplishment — as a pianist, vocalist (performing as Jazzage), composer, arranger, lyricist and educator … and now as the author of “Saratoga Soul Brandtville Blues,” excavating the ‘urban removal’ of Saratoga Springs’ communities of color in the late 1960s through the memories, stories, and photographs of generations of her family who settled, farmed and thrived here in an area once known as “Brandtville.” Through her tireless efforts to ensure that Brandtville and all it represented not be forgotten, Ms. Daggs has recently secured the rights and funding for a historical marker. We can only imagine the next creative venture from this transformational powerhouse — perhaps an original musical bringing the pages of her book to life and illuminating more of Saratoga’s truly color-full history!
