The African American Cultural Center of the Capital Region is excited to bring together the community, cultural organizations, and entrepreneurs to commemorate slavery’s abolition in the United States, and celebrate South Pearl Street’s vibrancy. Taking place 12noon-5:00 PM — with an outdoor movie screening at 8:00 PM — this event is rain or shine.
Please take all necessary health precautions related to COVID-19 including PPE and social distancing. For our friends that will be coming to the physical event, masks and gloves will be provided for your safety.

JUNETEENTH 2021 ACTIVITiES
Christ Church Albany Movie Screening: The Center will present a movie screening in the outdoor Reflection Garden in partnership with Christ Church Albany. Family and educational content will be shown for families to enjoy on a comfortable summer evening.
Young Futures Kids Corner: Young Futures will continue their ongoing series of youth arts classes and immersion programs on Juneteenth with free activities provided to youth on-site.
CDTA & UGRHP Trolley Rides:
The Capital District Transportation Authority and Underground Railroad History Project have partnered with the Center to provide educational trolley rides through Albany including tours at the Stephen and Harriet Myers residence.
Arts Exhibitions:
The Center will offer free public access to street-side exhibitions, outdoor art installations and permanent collections, including over 50 pieces of art.
Outdoor Reflection Garden:
The African American Cultural Center is excited to welcome friends, supporters and patrons to our outdoor campus for Juneteenth. The outdoor garden includes two wildlife ponds with turtles and fish, and an outdoor art gallery. The Center will provide a safe space in our outdoor Reflection Garden for visitors to celebrate freedom, grieve acts of brutality against people of color by police, and reflect on the social climate of today.
On-site Food Pickup:
The Center will be donating FREE soul-food dinners for pickup at our outdoor campus during Juneteenth. Jackson Soul Catering is providing the free meals. Dining will be allowed in the outdoor Reflection Garden on our campus.
Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream will provide FREE scoops of ice cream, including dairy-free options.
Virtual Music Streaming:
For those who are unable to join us at our Reflection Garden, the Center will also stream live music performances and educational content through Facebook and Instagram. Performing artists include: Jeid Ebanks, JahQuai Oliver, Ewart Simpson, Liana'kim, and Cheyel and Dance with Danseuse.
